summer update part 4: the final chapter

ok ok, so it's not really summer anymore...it's most definitely fall now but i think i have to do one final summer recap.

foldedpigs across the nation. the indie craft fair circuit is over. phew...a ton of miles were put on the car. austin, brooklyn, philly, kansas city & chicago. done and done.
rain & i selling at renegade austin. look at all the pattern!
photo by the marvelous marybeth mungovan

me shopping in the CircaCeramics booth at renegade chicago. i bought a sweet orange zombie mug designed by matty8080.
caught on film by danny of renegade.

i had a week vacation in between craft fairs and was able to hang out with my philly friends and eat as much water ice as possible. one evening we made homemade fireworks (actually safer than you'd think!)
check out the video below...i posted ryan's firework spin because it was one of the better ones.

now i'm working working working in the stu stu studio...lotsa upcoming deadlines. the summer heat was brutal - working in a 90 degree studio was a bit draining.
stay tuned for more...and a taxidermy update
(i know it's what you've been waiting for).

renegade update: long overdue!

rain & i traveled to chicago in the beginning of december for the renegade holiday craft fair. a bag of weird cheetos was purchased at a gas station, called chester's puffcorn.

who would have thought it would keep us entertained during the long drive. it pretty much seemed like the puffcorns were the end cast offs of the cheese puff machine. what to do with these weird things? make them a new product! they kinda are like cloud animals...sooo...i give you the cheese puff animals.
and now back to the serious stuff. the show was a success!
here are a couple images of my display.
ok, back to the silliness.
the whirlwind weekend was over and as we were packing up and leaving the fair, we managed to sneak in a couple quick photo booth pictures. we were NOT prepared for the first round of pictures...we realized the machine was already taking pictures while we were still getting settled. doh!
please see below.
this was by far the best set.

east coast craft fair tour. RECAP!

well...i feel like a slacker...we've been back from the whirlwind trip out east for two weeks now. this week should be full of updates to make up for the non-posting weeks.
renegade was awesome: met a ton of people, picked up some nifty things, saw a lot of french bulldogs (which made me miss my little olive), forgot to eat due to being busy, attempted to avoid the sun...lusterbunny & foldedpigs were in a sweet lineup of vendors. nice neighbors indeed!
renegade was held at mccarrin park in brooklyn. i knew we were going to be set up around a track, but for some reason i didn't expect people to actually be using it. there were a ton of runners and numerous soccer games happening throughout the weekend. there were a few rogue soccer balls that managed to hit our booths. thankfully no damages.

it took a few days of recovery in philly. the week ended with Art for the Cash Poor at the Crane Arts building. after the long brooklyn weekend, it was awesome to be inside and have a quick easy one table set up. here was a quick snap of my table.
more to come regarding the week in philly. it was packed full of good times and sweet sites to see!

east coast craft fair tour.

foldedpigs & lusterbunny are hittin' the road next week! we're heading out east for two super lovely craft fairs.

first up: June 6-7: Renegade Brooklyn!

my first time at this fair, and i'm really really excited.
(however, i'm not really excited to drive in nyc.)

second stop: June 13& 14th: Art for the Cash Poor, Philadelphia

i was at this show last year and am looking forward to it again!in preparation for the trip, lotsa little things need to be done...intern wanda & i tag teamed the gocco and printed shopping bags.

and of course...a whole lotta decaling is happening!departure is next wednesday...still a ton to do!

the studio dogs are not the greatest at helping, but they do win for being the cutest nappers.

craftacular!

i am psyched to be a vendor with my foldedpigs ware at the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale in Chicago next weekend.
this summer's outdoor fair was blessed with torrential downpours. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that the nasty weather stays away this time.
pretty please no blizzards!

thanks ike!

chicago received 6.64" of rain in 24 hours making it the most rainfall in one day in chicago history. not the greatest scenario for an outdoor craft fair. BUT, we made the most of it and stuck it out in our leaky tents. the super great thing was that people still came out to check out the goods! i met some awesome people and actually attained my sales goal! chicago...you rule.

here are some quick (and wet) pics of my booth set up.
p.s. i also learned a VALUABLE lesson. pack all my product in PLASTIC bins.
cardboard in the rain is lame.
