nceca 08 : pittsburgh

a set of my tumblers made it into the nceca juried student exhibition.
yay for red dots.

fiesta!

on the way to nceca, rain and i made a stop in newell, wv to visit the homer laughlin factory.
we went on a fantastic factory tour. two thumbs way up.
alas pictures were not allowed during the tour, but i did snap a pic of an amazing sign. ha.

i needed sticky dots.
eileen came to the rescue with wood grain contact paper.

unfortunately i had to peel them off...
this will definitely have to be investigated in the near future.
wood grain decals, here i come!

drains

during my search for drain patterns...

i came across these lovely drain hair catchers. these very much remind me of my collection of paper towel & toilet paper patterns.
i will be posting about said collection at a later time.

dirty dirty dishes

at the moment, i'm trying to only use only white dishes in order to take research photos.

the busboy was confused when i told him to hold on a second before taking the dishes away.
this one makes me gag. it's tuna fish. BLARGH!

this is by far the most amazing coffee stain i have ever seen.
